Sinful Colors Professional is not new to most nail polish addicts. Available in Walgreens usually, it comes in more than 30 colors. There is a variety in textures also.
A good thing about this nail polish is that it is toluene, dibutyl phthalate and formaldehyde free. Are you wondering what that supposed to mean? Well, those three ingredients are said to cause cancer and other allergic reactions. Does Sinful maintain quality without them? The review given below will answer it.
Dilemma of One Coat
Currently, I have this nail polish in pink (Feeling great# 323) and red (Under 18# 806). First time when I sat down to wear it I noticed that its one coat was enough to paint each nail. Moreover, I got what I saw in the bottle. Transparency did not invade. The color is perfectly thick without being sticky. However, that one coat turned out to be of not so good quality. It dried off within seconds, but had no sign of gloss. Moreover, within 3 days, it chipped.
Last Sunday, I decided to follow the steps given here. Note that I wore both the nail paints to see their overall quality. And because of their thicker texture, I decided to go with two coats instead of three. Also I wore no base or top clear coat. I thought this would be the best way to find out more about their quality.
Do you see something different in the picture above? Yes, there is gloss! Four days passed, there was no visible chipping. Today is Saturday and now both the colors are in the position shown below.
The picture is taken under sunlight for better visibility. You can see the chipping now. There are also visible signs of growth in the nails. Yet there is no change in gloss.
Verdict:
To take full advantage of Sinful Colors nail polish, we have to wear its 2 coats. That is enough to get full benefit from its quality.Nothing more is needed to be added here. From me, it simply gets 4 out 5 stars. I just like the fact that it is free of those dangerous ingredients.
