Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor is a lipstick that is said to be purely pigmented. Furthermore, its creamier texture’s credit is given to honey nectar. That sounds nice. Maybelline usually does its best to grab the market share through its lipsticks. Perhaps, that is why, it has released 54 different shades of Color Sensational. But how good is this lipstick? You will know its answer from the review given below. Note that the I own is of 435 plum perfect shade. But of course, all shades of Sensational has the same formula.

Benefits:

The cap of this lipstick is nicely tight. So it has less chance of coming out inside a cluttered purse. Texture wise, the lipstick is quite creamy and not at all sticky. Another point to note is that the texture is only partially glossy. To me, however, it looks almost invisible. So it can be taken as perfect for college and workplace.

Applying this Maybelline lipstick on lips is relatively easy. It glides on them without any problem. To put it differently, this lipstick does not cross the borders of the lips.  It does not even need help from lip liners. It seems to just go where it should be while giving the edges of the lips an artistically drawn effect.

The staying power of Maybelline product is quite strong.  Just see the test result given below. After applying it on my skin, I gave it a rub. The result is its color still staying strong.

But overall, I will say that the lipstick stays on the lips up to seven hours unless there is a high traffic of foods and drinks going inside the mouth. If you wish you can always carry the case in your purse for doing the touch up rituals.

Problems:

This Maybelline  Lipcolor does not do well on dry and broken lips. So a lip balm or conditioner is a must before application. There is also a smell problem. It is not intense, but not that sweet either. On a hot day, it can make you feel sick inside.  

Another problem is that this Maybelline lipstick leaves the lips broken.  The liquid it contains can be blamed for it. Just go back to the above image. What you see in it? The rub took away the glossiness, the liquid from the lipstick. Only thing now we have is the color. It looks matt, doesn’t it? This actually means that the liquid of this lipstick has very low staying power. Unfortunately, this leaves the lips at risk of getting cracks.At least, I am not spared from it.

Verdict:

This lipstick is just like any other ordinary lipsticks. However, its staying power is remarkable. The lipstick leaving the lips dry is a bit of a problem though. But I do not think that the smell it gives off can be an issue for others. It is just that my own nose dislikes it. In conclusion, since this lipstick has not shown any irritating tantrums, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
